Message from the Head of School

I wish you to know that we have high expectations of ourselves. Our approach from Day 1 was to design a superb facility and to develop an exemplary program. We are committed to hiring a team of dedicated and professional teachers who will actively engage our students in an inquiry-based liberal arts program that is characterized by its high standards, expectations and inspirational nature.

Message from the Head of School

I'm pleased to welcome you to Mission Hills International School. We are delighted to have this opportunity to establish our vision and to build a K-12 international school in Shenzhen with support from the Mission Hills Group. Our goal is to serve a growing number of Chinese nationals and expatriates in the region who have a keen interest in having their children attend a top tier dual language internationally accredited school.

We are committed to building a learning community where care and respect for one another is of paramount importance. We are committed to providing a balanced and holistic program with equal emphasis on the intellectual, social, creative and physical domains.

Personally, I consider myself fortunate to have worked in the educational sector for 35-years. For most of that time I have served in a senior leadership capacity at 5 different schools in Canada and Hong Kong. I view my occupation more in the realm of vocation than profession. Working with the many fine children and young adults who come through the doors of a school on a daily basis is an honor and privilege indeed and with it comes great responsibility and joy. I am eager to embrace this new challenge at MHIS and to welcome to our community the next group of future graduates who share our passion to build a great school!

I welcome you to spend some time on this website and to stay tuned for updates and news regarding program developments, information sessions and school registration procedures.

I look forward to hearing from you and to welcoming you to Mission Hills International School.

Sincerely,

John Jalsevac
Head of School
